Mt. Pleasant Cemetery

Seward County, Nebraska

Mt. Pleasant Cemetery is located in Section 14, Precinct J, Seward County, Nebraska. It is 2 miles east and a jog south of Ruby, on Holdredge Road (1000). From Interstate 80 take the Milford exit north, take the first left on Holdredge (1000), and you will soon see it on your right. The sign was apparently knocked down between August 2001 and August 2002, unfortunately, but our sources tell us that it will be restored early in 2005. Mt. Pleasant Cemetery was originally referred to as the "Hageman Cemetery" (Hageman family graves are immediately inside the entrance), also the Ruby Cemetery and the "Brokaw Cemetery" (William Augustus Brokaw gave the land for it).

Note: If you have any photos, tombstone transcriptions, or stories about this cemetery, please consider adding them to this website. --Alice
